King of Cooks: Chapter One

A strand of bright teal hair hung in front of a pair of shockingly silver eyes. This strand was almost immediately blown away, only to land right back in place.
The gray eyes narrowed in annoyance, glaring at the seemingly insignificant strand.

"Of all the times to have my hair fall in front of my face," a distinctly soprano voice growled irritably, "Great, no doubt I'll be stuck here until Alec realizes he's left me down here too long again." A young woman with silver eyes and bright teal hair was chained, by her arms, to a large stone wall. She was unnaturally thin, bordering anorexic. Her stomach growled a loud complaint.
"Oh shut up you," directing her gaze away from the strand of hair to her belly, "I promise I'll feed you as soon as I'm out of here," almost as a sarcastic afterthought, she added, "whenever that is."

She was currently imprisoned in a dungeon, and as most dungeons were, it was cold, almost unbearably humid, and smelled of rotting dead person; which considering how no-one had come to mock the girl since her imprisonment, wasn't the least bit surprising. It was her own personal prison, complete with creaky chains and a mournful wind.

The girl sighed, the sound tinged with despair, "Well, at least the mice haven't decided to eat me yet."

Of course, little did she know of the going ons of the world above, trapped as she was. The smell of decaying flesh wasn't just from the bones of prisoners long gone, and it wasn't just the wind howling outside.
